I've been such a long-time fan of Annabel Mehran's photography. I think I've probably also blogged a lot about my love of faceless portraits. Her "Louisa" series, with its wild and waterlogged feeling calls to me especially. (Ten days until I go home!)
These are beautiful. I particularly love the one where she is taking off her shirt/dress. The way her body is moving with the grass and her long legs and the boots. I can almost feel the cool temperature.
Commenting with nothing articulate in mind...the seaweed picture gets me the most - the juxtaposition of the seaweed which almost looks woven with the waves coming in - the white tips of which look almost solid, like wool?

DeleteThis is exactly how I picture Topaz Mortmain from I Capture the Castle, falling apart finery and nearly naked in galoshes.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read it! Should I?
DeleteHello Jane
ReplyDeleteThe image with the seaweed and the wellies reminds me of our beach near Kinvara.
I am happy you are going to Ireland soon. We are headed there in September
