I mentioned that honing out the incoherent stuff in my apartment is one of my 2011 resolutions. I've started making a mental list of stuff to give away or donate. And, of course, there are some things I want to add too. Though, thankfully not so much that it's overwhelming. I settled on the bed a while ago, but have to order it still - I've got some pragmatic storage solving to do first.
I think the big investment in 2011 will be drapery. Like most renters, I've made do with various Ikea drapes over the years. I need to decide if I'll be staying in my apartment this year or looking to move to something bigger. It's not an easy choice for me (I love this apartment) and I'll have to see the impact of some of my decluttering and rearranging.
But whether I stay or go, I'll look to switch out my drapes with something more grown up. I adore the new Dwellstudio range of fabrics and in lieu of wallpapering (which I've also fantasized about) may bite the bullet and add some pattern to my windows instead. Rapture & Wright's fabrics are my all-time favourite.
Other than that, I'd like to continue to replace my dinnerware with my favourite Heath Coupe line. And that's pretty much it. I painted my whole place in 2010, so am feeling good about the backdrop. And my sofa will realistically last another year or two, despite the fact I fantasize about replacing it often...
