Perhaps I'm still haunted by this derelict building and this derelict house. When I came across these photographs by Jeffrey Stockbridge, they seemed perfectly attuned to my current mood. Every day I work in a building that is ugly by any standard. So, maybe it's the poetry and poignancy of these spaces that tugs at me. These images of a soon-to-be torn down hotel in Philadelphia are so still and luminous... even in this eerie state, they suggest a soulful inner life.
