One of my favourite interior design books is Old House, New Home. In particular, I think about this house a lot. It's the home of Gael Towey.
I love the modern touches, the rustic touches, the patina (nothing looks brand spanking new), the perfect proportions of the house itself and the beautiful moulding. I can imagine being home alone here. Or hosting a big party. And the house feeling warm and welcoming in either instance. (Photography by Jan Baldwin. Book published by Ryland Peters & Small.)
