Weird synchronisity, but, like Ali, I watched the Grey Gardens for the first time this weekend. It's amazing.
Their mother-daughter anger-love completely resonated. And the dialogue is jumbled, stream of consciousness, haphazard, rhythmic, cacophonous, melancholy and moving. It reminded me a lot of Beckett (especially Rockaby or Happy Days). I also bought The Beales of Grey Garden and Ghosts of Grey Garden and will watch them next weekend.
